The open muslin weave actually lets air through, so my little one stays warm without getting sweaty during naps. Washed it three times already and it only got softer, no pilling at all.

Bought two of these for my newborn and the open weave really does keep her from overheating the way our old fleece blanket did. It's big enough that I can still get a tight swaddle even now that she's three months and wriggly.

I was worried muslin would be too thin, but this one feels sturdy while still letting air through, and my daughter actually stays asleep in it instead of waking up sweaty. The open weave really does breathe, which sold me on it for summer nights.
